Mubarak Sentenced to Life in Prison

On Saturday, a judge sentenced former President of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak to life in prison for the killing of unarmed demonstrators during the first 6 days of protests in February 2011. Mubarak had been in command of Egypt for over 30 years. Mubarak was responsible for the deaths of protesters during the Arab Spring. He was ousted on February 11th 2011 after 18 days of demonstrations. Many had hoped for the death penalty, but are relieved that Mubarak has been brought to justice.
